Notes
3. Create Accout
On the home page, click ‘sign up’. Enter email. Enter password ( must be at least 8 characters). Click ‘create account’. Go to email and click ‘verify email address’.

Click the ‘help’ blue hyperlink on the welcome page. You should be taken to a new window called : padify support. http://padify.tender app.com/home

Click the ‘settings’ icon. On the drop down menu, click ‘Team’. User should get a window stating the name of the owner of the publication. Click on the ‘+’ icon. Enter email address and click ‘invite’. User should have an extra team member with access to their publications.

Click the ‘settings’ icon. On the drop down menu, click ‘Fonts’. Click ‘upload fonts’ on the new window. Or Click on any of the listed fonts in the list to change. User should have fonts uploaded from external specified location. Or User should be able to switch from various fonts.

Click ‘settings’ icon. On the drop down menu, click ‘styles’. A new window: Manage styles appears. Click on any style to change style. User should be able to change the style of various parts of any page on a publication.

10. Create New Publication
On the Publication page: Click the sign ‘+’ On drop down menu Click ‘new publication’. User will create a new publication and be prompted to name this publication.

11. Duplicate Existing Publication
On the Publication page: Hover mouse over intended publication. A radio button should appear. Select an existing publication on the welcome page by clicking this radio button. Click the sign ‘+’ On drop down menu Click ‘Duplicate’. User should get a duplicate copy of the existing publication.

12. Restore Tutorial
On the Publication page: Click the sign ‘+’. On drop down menu Click ‘Restore tutorial’. User should get a new copy of tutorial.

13. Delete Publication
On the Publication page: Hover mouse over intended publication. A radio button should appear. Select an existing publication on the welcome page by clicking this radio button. Click the ‘Delete’ button. The selected publication should have been deleted.

14. Sync
Log on to padify following the steps highlighted above. Once logged on and in the landing page, create a new publication as detailed above. Name this publication as desired taking note of the name. Click the ‘sync’ button and a window will pop up asking for permission to access user’s drop box account. Click ‘continue’ Log on to dropbox account if already registered or sign up otherwise. Once logged in to the drop box homepage, there is a list of folders. One of these folders is called ‘Apps’. Click this Inside ‘Apps’ should be a folder called ‘Padify’. If not created already, create a folder called ‘Padify’. Inside ‘Padify’, create a folder with the same name as the new publication. Populate this folder in ‘Padify’ with files: HTML, .doc, .docx,rtf and images(png,jpeg,gif). Click ‘Sync’ to transfer all the content of this folder into the new publication. Existing User with a drop box account. Create a new publication with the same name as a folder in the padify folder in dropbox. Click into this publication. While in the page list, Click ‘sync’. For publication group(s) Create a new publication with the same name as a folder in the padify folder in dropbox. Click ‘sync’. User should have content from drop box in publication. If there are multiple publications, then they should all be synced together.

Padify Tutorial
1. Access Publication
Click on any of the Publications from Publication page. User should see a window containing publication title and list of pages in the publication.

Move mouse to the far left of the page title: a four way arrow appears. Drag this page to any part of the list and drop.

5. Sign Out

Click on a publication. At the right hand cornerof the table of content page is a dog ear fold. Click on this icon. Onthe new window: Input Title Input keywords. Click ‘Upload cover’ button to set an image on the book cover. Changes made to publication metadata.

Click on a publication. On the table of content: click a page. In the page, at the righthand corner of the page is a dog ear fold. Changes made to page metadata. Click the dog ear fold. On the new window, change: ‘Title’, ‘Tags’.

8. Navigation between pages
Click on any page from the list of pages. On the top left corner of the toolbar are two buttons: forward and backward arrows. Click forward and backward respectively User should be able to navigate between pages of a publication.

While on any page within a publication: Click on the ‘open book’ icon on the toolbar. User should be taken back to the table of content.

Within a page: Select a body of text so as to highlight it. On the toolbar, click the ’Bullets’ icon. On the drop down menu click ’Superscript’. User should have selected text superscripted.

1. Style
Within a page: Click the mouse to place it on the page. On the toolbar, click the pen icon. User should get a drop down menu containing some of the following symbols: Left Aligned. Centered. Right Aligned.

Within a page: Select any group of text or paragraph so that it is highlighted. Click the style icon and on the drop down menu, click the left aligned icon. Selected text should be left aligned.

Within a page: Select any group of text or paragraph so that it is highlighted. Click the style icon and on the drop down menu, click the centered icon. Selected text should be aligned to the center of the page.

12. Define a new style
Within a page: Place cursor within line of text. Click the style icon and on the drop down menu, click the ’+’ button. On the new window, click each header to change existing values to desired values. Text on the page should be changed to the new customised style.

Within a page: Place cursor within line of text. Click the style icon and on the drop down menu, click the ’cog like icon ’. On the drop down menu, click ‘Edit style’ On the new window, click any of the heading to alter text style. Text should be changed to the new style.

ithin a page: Place cursor within line of text. Click the style icon and on the drop down menu, click the ’cog like icon ’. On the drop down menu, click ‘Manage style’ A new window which is partitioned into two columns appears. Select any style on the left column. Click any of the heading on the right and input changes. Text should be changed to the new format after closing.

16. Split by style
Within a page: Place cursor within line of text. Click the style icon and on the drop down menu, click the ’cog like icon ’. On the drop down menu, click ‘Split by style’. The page is broken into multiple pages with each page containing one style from the original page. Go to table of content for the publication and the new pages should be at the bottom of the content.

While a page is open, click layout. User should get a drop down menu with some of the following: ‘Section break’ ‘Move to next column’ ‘Margin & fill’

Place the cursor on a paragraph in a page. Click on the layout icon. On the drop down menu: click the ‘Move to next column’ icon. The content of the paragraph is moved to the next column.

Click on the layout icon. On the drop down menu: click the ‘Margin & fill’ icon. On the new window, enter the values and click apply. The margins of the page should be altered as desired.

Create a template in padify. Click on the layout icon. On the drop down menu: click the ‘Save as layout’ icon. Name and save the layout. Create a blank page in same publication. Click the layout icon. On the drop down menu, click the saved layout name. The saved layout is placed on the new blank page.

While on any page within a publication: Click on the ‘open book’ icon on the toolbar. User should be taken back to the table of content.

Click on the animation icon on the toolbar. On the drop down menu: click ‘Effects’. On the drop down menu: choose the desired effect. The effect chosen should be implemented.

1. Create a blank page
Within a publication, Click the ‘plus’ sign on the toolbar. On the drop down is ‘create a blank page’. This will create a blan page within the publication.

Within a publication, Click the ‘plus’ sign on the toolbar. On the drop down is’ Upload HTML files’. In the new window, choose the HTML file from any location within your computer. Can also chose a doc file to upload. User should have an HTML file in the publication.

Within a publication on the table of content page: Click the export button on the toolbar. On the drop down menu, click the ‘export HTML 5’. User should have a zip file downloaded. This folder should contain HTML files of the publication.

1. Saving changes on a page
Within a page on a publication, edit text or images. A message: ‘Last saved’ stating the time should be displayed in the toolbar.

Clicking this links should take user to the defined landing page.

1. 'Fill'
Click the cube shaped icon: frame. On the drop down menu, click the white space input box front of the icon ‘Fill’. On the new window, select the desired colour for background. Use the slider to alter the colour to desired shade. User should have desired frame colour.

1. 'Padding'

Editing Images
1. 'Wrap'
Click on an image. Click the ‘style’ icon. On the drop down, select one of the three icon in front of ‘wrap’. First icon moves the text to the right of the image. Second icon places the text below the image. The third icon places the text on the left of the image.

Click on an image. Click the ‘style’ icon. On the drop down, go to ‘Fullbleed’. Use the ‘on/off’ slider. Image is turned on/off fullbleed.

Custom Layouts
1. Create new custom layout.
When viewing a page click on the ‘ > ’ icon. On the window that appears, click the “+” icon to add a new layout. Enter new custom layout name. Press Done to save the default custom layout Or Enter your own custom layouts and press Done to save your custom layout. Click the Layouts menu, on the dropdown that appears click on the custom layout that you named to apply it to page. Custom layout created should be applied to the page.

2. Custom Section Styles
When on a publication page, click the ‘/’ icon. On the window that appears, click on “custom.css” to add your own custom css style. To add section styles, use the example style: section.redlayout { background-color: red; } When you have added your css style, press Done. You can now apply your css style to the section selector. To add the example section selectors click the left edge of a section, press the Style menu icon and from the dropdown menu choose your style, called “redlayout”. Click to apply the style.

When on a publication page, click the ‘ > /’ icon. On the window that appears, click on “custom.css” to add your own custom css style. To add section styles, use the example code: article.bluebg{ background-color: blue; } When you have added your css style, press Done. You can now apply your css style to the entire publication page. To add the example article style press the Style menu icon and from the dropdown menu choose your style, called ‘bluebg’. Click to apply the style.

4. Custom Text Style
When on a publication page, click the ‘/’ icon. On the window that appears, click on “custom.css” to add your own custom css style. Example code: p.largetext { font-size: 45pt }. When you have added your css style, press Done. You can now apply your css style to your text content. To add the example text style select your text, press the Style menu icon and from the dropdown menu choose your style, called ‘yellowheader’ or ‘largetext’. Click to apply the style.

5. Delete Custom Layout
When on a publication page, click the ‘ > /’ icon. On the window that appears, click on a custom layout to select it. Press the ‘-‘ button to remove the custom layout.

6 Custom book-overlay rule
1. Add the following rule to custom style of a publication: .book-overlay.xxx { colour: green; }. Click on the Style menu. You should be able to see the new style.

7.Hiding custom article style
Add the following rule to custom style of a publication: body article.redbg { background-color: red; }. Click on the Style menu. You should not be able to see this new style there.

8. Hiding custom styles
Add the following rule to custom style rules of a publication: article.xxx, section.xxx. Style them however you want. Click on Styles. These styles should not be visible.

9. Applying styles to selectors
Copy and paste the following custom style to a publication: section.foobar { background-color: blue; }. Select a section. Click on the Style menu. Click on the foobar style to apply it. You should only be able to apply this style to a section. Select a paragraph. Click on Styles. You should not be able to see it or apply it.
